TicketTrap.ai: Every Camera. Every Ticket. Every Dollar.
Case Study · Public Records Platform, Data and Search
TicketTrap.ai is a free public records, money and news hub on automated traffic enforcement: red-light cameras, speed and school-zone cameras, bus-lane cameras and license plate readers, and the companies behind them. It collects the contracts, ticket counts and revenue from public records and publishes all of it with the source attached to every number. NewSunSEO built it and runs it, starting with Long Island, and it shows what we can build for any organization that needs to turn scattered records into a trusted public resource.
- Public records search
- Document library with text search
- Money trail with a source on every number
- News hub and citizen toolkit

The Challenge
The Records Exist, but Nobody Can Find Them
Red-light, speed and school-zone cameras are run by governments and, very often, by private companies paid out of the tickets. The facts about these programs are public: contracts, ticket counts, revenue, signal timing studies and court rulings. They are spread across county budget reviews, comptroller reports, court filings and years of news coverage, in formats that are hard to search and harder to compare. A resident, a journalist or an attorney who wants a straight answer about the cameras in their own town has to dig through all of it alone.
The Solution
One Place for the Programs, the Money and the Evidence
TicketTrap.ai gathers those records into a single public platform, organized from the country down to the town or agency that runs the cameras. Every program has its own page with its cameras, figures, documents and history. Cameras that have been removed stay on the record. Every number links to the record it came from and carries a label that says what the evidence shows, so a reader can check any figure in one click.
Follow the Money
A Money Trail Readers Can Check
The home page leads with a running total of what the tracked camera programs have collected, split clearly into the amount documented in public records and an estimate for the time since the last documented year. Both parts are shown side by side and labeled, so nothing is presented as more certain than it is. A compare page lines up every program we track: money collected, tickets issued, payments to camera contractors and the latest camera count, with a chart by year and a download of every figure with its period, verification status and source.

Search and Documents
A Library That Searches Inside Every Page
The document library holds original public records, free to read and download: county budget reviews, comptroller reports, program annual reports, court decisions and laws. Scanned pages are converted to searchable text, so a search looks inside every page of every record, not just the title. A site-wide search covers towns, counties, intersections, camera companies and court cases, and each document page shows the figures that came from it.

Features
Built for Residents, Journalists and Researchers
- Camera map. Search an address, town or ZIP code to see which camera programs cover it, filter by camera type and status, and click a point for its history, records and ticket figures.
- Locations. Every place tracked, from country to state, county and town, with its programs, cameras in records and cameras mapped.
- Investigations. Each one starts from a question or an allegation and reports what the records actually show, with every finding linked to the records behind it. The first investigations are being documented now.
- News hub. Coverage of automated enforcement and camera surveillance, with ticketing cameras and license plate readers kept apart so their stories are never mixed together.
- Records request toolkit. A letter builder for New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Maryland and the District of Columbia that cites the state law and its deadline. Nothing a visitor types leaves their browser.
- Tips and documents. Visitors can send a tip or a record they obtained, so the next person does not have to ask again.
Trust
Facts, Not Assumptions
A platform like this is only useful if people can rely on it. TicketTrap.ai publishes its editorial standards and how it counts. A tip or a social media post is treated as a lead, not a finding. Conduct is never called fraud, theft or a crime unless a court or an official finding has said so. Agencies and camera companies can send a response or a correction, corrections are noted on the page, and personal information such as plate numbers and home addresses is removed from submitted records before anything is published. When the records disprove an allegation, the site publishes that too.
Not legal advice. TicketTrap.ai is an educational resource. It points readers to the issuing agency’s official process or a lawyer for questions about a specific ticket.
Reliability
Engineered to Stay Online
TicketTrap.ai runs on our own infrastructure. A health check watches the application, its database, its search engine and its document processing, and the system restarts any part that stops responding. The platform is backed up nightly, code is version controlled, and releases are checked through automated sessions that browse the site as a real visitor on desktop and mobile. A companion blog shares the site’s look, so news posts and research pages read as one publication.
