Commerce Engines
The Upsells That Sell Supplements, Without the Plugin Stack
Supplements sell in multi month supplies and recurring orders. Off the shelf, that means a stack of paid plugins with annual licenses. SaltyFuelShop runs on engines we wrote, built to work together and to do exactly what the store needs.
- Supply tiers on every product. Every product page offers a 30, 60, or 90 day supply, with the larger options discounted and a free shipping badge that appears the moment an option qualifies. Discounts are enforced server side, so the price on the card is always the price at checkout.
- A bundle engine with split testing built in. Twelve bundles composed from real catalog products, with stock that decrements per component and a testing system that tracks impressions, add to carts, and purchases per variant. The leaderboard ranks by revenue per visitor, the number that actually matters.
- A subscription engine with a customer portal. Recurring orders at a locked unit price, automatic retries on failed payments, and a self service portal where customers skip, pause, resume, or cancel on their own.
- Honest pricing by design. Every discount is calculated from real prices and real costs, with a unit economics tool confirming each tier clears margin before it goes live. No inflated original prices, anywhere.

- It cannot invent a product. Recommendations are grounded in a synchronized copy of the live catalog, and every link is checked against the real catalog before a visitor ever sees it.
- It stays in its lane. Medical and symptom questions get a referral to a physician, not a product pitch. The FDA disclaimer appears automatically on product recommendations.
- It resists manipulation. Prompt injection attempts are refused, and rate limits per visitor and per network keep the feature fast for real shoppers.
- It bills through the store. Access tiers resolve from real purchase history, and the premium tier is sold as an ordinary store product. No second billing system to manage.
Compliance

A supplement store is a regulated advertising environment. Every product page, category name, and blog post sits under FTC and FDA rules, so SaltyFuelShop enforces them with systems instead of hoping everyone remembers.
- A compliance scanner that runs weekly. It reviews published pages, products, and category names for wording that could raise an FTC or FDA question, scores each finding, and reports in the dashboard. It understands context: negations, hedged wording, and the disclaimer itself never trigger false alarms.
- Disclaimers where they belong. The FDA structure and function disclaimer renders on every product page automatically, and the scanner verifies it is there.
- Education kept separate from selling. Standing policy: informational pages about serious health topics carry no product links. Clean separation is the strongest defense there is.
- Label QA down to the character. An internal review application manages every printed label proof through inspection, correction, and approval, with full revision history, before anything goes to print.

The store runs on a child theme with a rebuilt navigation, a homepage structured around product discovery instead of decorative banners, a Learning Center content hub, order tracking, and a blog. The catalog was created in bulk from the fulfilment partner’s product data, so naming, SKUs, images, and shipping weights are consistent across every product. Homepage product rows are curated from an admin screen in minutes, and every change ships verified on desktop and mobile.
