Twitter Users Are Now Younger on Average Than Facebook’s

The Pew Internet for the American Life Project is out with new data about Twitter … “Some 19% of internet users now say they use Twitter or another service to share updates about themselves, or to see updates about others. This represents a significant increase over previous surveys in December 2008 and April 2009, when 11% of internet users said they use a status-update service.” However, what’s also notable is that Twitter is stronger on average with the younger audience – the same one that TV nets and advertisers covet.

Confirmed: Twitter and Facebook to Be Part of Bing Wave 2 (Not to Be Confused with Google Wave Beta)

As rumored earlier , Qi Lu did in fact take the stage at Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco and announce search partnerships with Twitter and Facebook. TechCrunch had the lowdown on Lu’s speech, and the Bing Search blog has a post , as well. The word is largely mum on Facebook – Lu said that announcement would come later. However, Lu did launch into greater detail about the Twitter partnership. It’s non-exclusive, which, yes, means Google can get a search deal with Twitter as well.

Tuesday Options Recap

Frederic Ruffy submits: Sentiment Stocks are holding gains, amid strength in some commodities and optimism for the third quarter earnings reporting period. Many of the energy, metals, and mining names saw gains after crude oil rose 55 cents to $70.96 a barrel and gold rallied $20 to $1037.80 an ounce. Meanwhile, Alcoa ( AA ) is up 3.4 percent to $13.88 and the best gainer in the Dow Jones Industrial Average ahead of earnings. Alcoa unofficially kicks off the earnings reporting season tomorrow after the closing bell. With no economic data on the calendar, investors don’t have much other news to work with Tuesday and the bullish underlying tone from Monday’s session seems to have carried forward to Tuesday’s trading.
